Each August, the Innerleithen Music Festival brings some of the biggest names in the celtic music world to this little town in the Border hills, only 30 miles from Edinburgh.  But up and coming bands from near and far also get a look in, as do some fine traditional singers.

The festival started in 2003, picking up where the highly successful Both Sides of the Tweed festival left off.  Past headliners have included Eddi Reader, Dougie Maclean, Phil & Aly, Karen Matheson, Andy M Stewart, Malinky, Battlefield Band and Archie Fisher.  The festival also works hard to raise the profile of local bands and young talent.
